CHAIRPERSON

Cameron “Jamie” Hogan is an Honorary Professor in Public Policy, Governance & Leadership at the prestigious and internationally acclaimed Kennedy University. He is a Fellow of Youth Workers Australia Inc, Fellow of the Institute of Management and Leadership Inc and a full accredited Member of the Association of Investigators and Security Professionals Inc. 

He studied in a joint program sponsored by Education Institutes, Justice Associations and Fundraising Foundations; the Victorian Community Leadership Program qualifying in 2010 as a Fellow of the program. He sustudied youth work at the now closed Phillips Institute of Technology (Now part of RMIT University) graduating in 1985. 

Living in far eastern Rural Victoria for the last fifteen years,however he has been involved in community services, youth work, advocacy and education industries both as a practitioner and in varies levels of management for over forty-years, currently holding the position of Managing Partner of The Phoenix Consultancy Group. He registered as a Lobb pandemicyist soon after the COVID Pandemic. 

In his career Jamie has worked as Chief of Staff and Advisor to a senior member of the Victorian State Government, a Legal Advocate, Independent Chair & Adjudicator, Policy & Governance Advisor, both Government and Corporate Board Member/ Director, Political Commentator, Youth Worker, and served a term as a Councillor in a large Melbourne based Municipality. 

As a registered Lobbyist, Bailiff and Inquiry Agent  and through the Phoenix Group he undertakes some consultancy work in research as a Political, Governance 

He holds a number of Fellowships in professional societies. In addition he has been a Corporate Director/Board Member and has a passion for helping LGBTQIA+ people and people with Mental Health issues particularly focused around young people, 

He gained a Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) in 2009 and a Laws Doctorate (LLD) in 2022 He has continued as a recognized specialist in Leadership, Governance, Public Policy, Governance and Compliance.

Jamie is the author of a number of academic papers including the widely accepted “Hopes Dreams and Aspirations” focusing on the needs and issues relating to international students in 2009 presented by at the joint Australia Association of Social Workers/ Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers/ Association of Teachers of Social Work and Welfare Studies joint national conference . In 2004 jointly with Federal Investigator Christopher McCrae from Wonthaggie and Senior Sergent Syd Galligar OIC at Moorabbin Police Station, he wrote the training manual and guidelines for Independent Persons in the Bass Coast LGA, South Gippsland LGA, Kingston LGA, East Gippsland LGA, Bendigo Region, Hume Region and others in Victoria that eventually became the basis of the government funded state wide Independent Persons Program

He has been awarded Citizen of the Year in the Australia Day Awards in 1989, the Australian Security Medal in 2008, the Community Services Medal in 2009 and the Australian Volunteers Medal in 2009, and the Distinguished Service Medal by the Advocacy Institute of Australia in 2026

DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON

John Sier is one of the highest qualified most diverse and experienced property consultants and real estae agents in the country. His career spans over fifty years.

He holds many qualifications but in essance he holds Fellowships in Prporty Management, Valuations, Real Estate, Management and Leadership and a Masters in Business Administration [MBA}

He has lectured in the Real Estate Agent's Diploma at Box Hill Institute until  his retirement from academics.  He spent over twenty years as a Bail Justice on the Mornington Peninsula advocating for juvenile offenders. 

John has served on various state and national committees and boards including government community and corporate advocating for the property industry particularly the national regulating of Real Estate Agent practices.

John also served in the Australian Defence Force Reserve raising to the rank of Warrant Officer. 

BOARD MEMBER

The great Derek Amos is one of Victria's greatest advocates and possibly the greatest advocate in Australia for people with mental illness with over sixty years experience appering in court rooms accross the state and writing submissions and testifying at Royal Commissions

Derek commenced his working life as a painter and decorator and then had major involvment in the union movement becoming actively involved in politics.

He ran twice for state parliament before being elected to the state seat of Morwell which held over two decades and increasing his margin at each election whilst in opposition. He was a senior member of the opposition holding a number of Shadow Ministeries.

For services to the Victorian Parliament Derek was awarded the British Empire Medal

After retiring from parliament he was elected to the Latrobe City Council in Gippsland where he served two terms leading to him undertaking work as an advocate for people with mental illness. He founded the mental health advocacy service Barrier Breakers. He Chaired the Board and for many years was the Acting Chief Executive. Through this medium he trained many advocates.

For his work with the mentally ill and for other community services he was awarded the Order of Australia.

He has served on a number of committees and boards over time and still acts as a local Justice of the Pease in Bairnsdale. 

Derek is an elder statesman in Gippsland and in his political party; once being one of the leaders of a major faction within the party. 

For his advocacy work accross Victoria he was awarded the AIA's highest honor; the Distinguished Service Medal

BOARD MEMBER

Todd Price is a trained artist who studied at Melbourne Polytechnics to gain his visual and fine line art qualifications. As an artist he specializes in fine line drawing.

Todd has been an advocate for young up and coming artists and art spaces in the country. He is committed to impacting on communities through art and art advocacy 

in 2023 he was funded by the Midd Summer Festival to undertake the creation of a mobile mural celebrating forty years since the decriminalization of homosexuality.

Todd is a Partner in the Phoenix Consultancy Group where he is the Artistic Director.

BOARD MEMBER

 Howard Sercombe has been a youth worker, researcher and academic in the youth studies area for over forty years. He has worked on the street in welfare suburbs of Perth, developed youth services for Indigenous young people in the outback of Western Australia, worked with Eastern European gypsy communities in Glasgow, and heroin users in de-industrialising towns in Scotland.  He was a foundation member of staff for the youth work degree at Edith Cowan University, and Professor of Community Education at Strathclyde University in Glasgow for eight years.

Howard has had a major impact in the global understanding of youth work as a professional practice, especially its ethical foundations, and on the impact of neuroscience on our perceptions of young people.  He wrote the foundation Code of Ethics for youth work for Western Australia n 1997, variations of which have become the standard across Australia, in the UK, New Zealand, Zambia, South Africa and the Commonwealth.

Howard has been a tireless advocate for youth work as a professional practice across the world, and has been General Secretary for Youth Work NSW since its inception.  He is currently Associate Professor of Youth Sociology and Programme Lead in Youth Work at Western Sydney University. 

 SECRETARY/ TREASURER

Irini is an expert in office management organizational compliance for many groups and companies.and is a noted expert in Vocational and higher education compliance with over 30+ years of experience in education and Advocacy.

She has worked in compliance, business development and office management for mjor companies such as the RACV, Excellior, Shilled Engineering Group, Box Hill Tafe and various other major Registered Training Organizations and has been Professor Hogans Personal Assistant on and off for over twenty years. She is currently the Administrator for the Phoenix Consultancy Group. 

Irini has studied and qualified as a Trainer and Assessor and hold a number of qualifications in Administration a nd business including a Diploma of Business Administration

She is married with two grown daughters and lives in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with her husband and disable daughter who she cares for amoungst all the other things she undertakes.

In addition to working for Phoenix she has over the last ten years become a noted expert in Security Training Compliance and undertakes compliance and instruction design for a Vocational College that delivers security training
